Famous Figures of the Middle Ages & Renaissance
Are you studying the Middle Ages and the Renaissance? Do you need a quick and imaginative craft? This resource includes the images of 21 famous people from this time era that you can fashion into articulated paper dolls. Each person comes with 2 paper dolls, one that is ready to be cut and assembled, and one that is waiting for your artistic inspiration to color and decorate before assembling. Each page is perforated and every piece of the dolls details indicates where to assemble. Instructions are also located in the back. You will need scissors and something to assemble with like brads or string. Included is a booklist that can be consulted to learn and read more about each person. Along with the book list, there is an internet link (FiguresInMotion.com) that will take you to additional resources like coloring pages and activities. All dolls are printed on durable cardstock. Each doll also has about a paragraph or two of information and fun facts. 96 pgs, pb. ~Rebecca

Includes a short description about each person along with a list of books to read aloud. Perfect for kids who love crafts and hands-on activities. A great addition to your study of the Renaissance. Hours of fun and educational play!
If you are not a big arts-and-crafts type of teacher, no worries! You can easily add a craft project to your history studies with these consumable workbooks. The artwork is wonderfully done, and the craft is interactive, from designing to assembly to historical play. The books (designed to be disassembled and the figures cut out) are made with heavyweight cardstock. There are two sets of each figure: one in full color, and one with black-and-white line art to be colored in (definitely a colored pencil project). At the front of the book is a pictorial guide to each figure that includes a detailed biographical sketch and a companion reading list (read-aloud as well as independent reading options). There are complete instructions for assembling using small brads or eyelets, with a letter key printed on the back of each piece for easy assembly. A hole punch and fasteners are required for assembly and are NOT included. These time-era paper doll books would make a wonderful addition to a classical history program like Mystery of History, Story of the World, or BiblioPlan.
My son loves hands-on activities and he can do these himself!
Having bright pictures of the people they are learning about is so helpful! They delight my children. Thank you for these.
I like the sensory play this brings to learning.
