Africa Bingo
Learning and learning geography can be fun. In Africa Bingo students learn where African countries are and the capital of each country through the classic game of bingo.
Your youngest students will see and hear the name of the country they are looking for on their bingo card and later be asked to travel north, south, east or west from one country to another. More advanced students after hearing what countries they have been in will be asked what country has a common border on all these or what country is encircled by the other countries.
In the last section there is a quirky rhyme that gives a clue for the country and its capital.
All this is presented in a fun and entertaining way from the vehicles used to travel, the strange people who come along for the journey, to talking animals and trees, time-travelers and even aliens from other planets.

Bingo in a book? Well, you will be cutting up the book to create your colorful bingo fun, but yes! First, there are flashcards to cut out in the back. These include a map on one side (Level 1) and three more levels of bingo challenge on the back you will use when playing the game. These are two per page for a total of 58 paper cards. Next are the actual bingo cards (also paper). There are 10, two-sided cards for 20 gameboards in all. The back cover has 124 little squares (2cm) that become your bingo markers, all with graphics related to the book theme. There are a couple fully labeled maps in the back that are reproducible. Make one for every student as they are starting out. Once they know the locations of the countries (Level 1), you can try the other levels of play. Level 2 requires players know locations plus directions. Level 3 routes the player from country to country. Level 4 provides a quirky rhyme as a clue to a capital and country. The maps used are very basic outlines, so even young players can understand. You may want to laminate these pages to get more mileage out of the materials. Part of the fabulous ARTK12 series. ~Sara
