Description

In this preschool program, students will not only have fun learning basic skills (colors, letters, nutrition, matching objects, and weather), but will also be taught important biblical principles along the way. This developmental approach instills a love of learning in children through play-based activities. There are 36 weeks of lessons broken down into six major milestones. Within each milestone are six lessons (or stones). Completing one lesson a week with 3 days of assignments is the goal. Each assignment has three areas of focus: Making Connections, Match It Up, and Heroes of the Bible. In the Making Connections section, you interact with your student and do an activity. For example, you might talk about the sun, moon, and stars and use playdough to make anything you see in the sky. Match It Up involves an activity sheet such as matching objects, drawing lines from healthy food choices to the plate, and various other activities. The Heroes of the Bible section teaches about a specific Bible hero each week and there are simple memory verses to learn in each lesson. Assessment checks are provided every six weeks to assess your student's progress. Play-based learning activities for supplementing the course are also included, along with organization ideas and a list of supplies to have on hand. Read-aloud recommendations are also listed in the back of the book. By the end of the year, young children will learn to write the first letter of their name and the first three letters of the alphabet. It might pair well with an activity-based math book such as Preschool Math at Home. This is a gentle and fun resource to teach your child key Biblical principles and prepare them for kindergarten study! ~ Gina
