Deblockle Game

What a unique game! It's essentially a competitive logic puzzle in which players attempt to reach a "home" space with all 4 blocks before their opponent. Here's how it works: each player starts with 4 identical cubes, diagonal to a "home star" space on a 7x7 grid opposite their opponent. The blocks are rolled so a different set of sides are face-up each game (this will become important in a moment).

Each turn, players choose a block to "roll" one space in any direction, and then "hop" the cube by taking the action indicated on the face-up side. 5 of these actions consist of orthogonal and diagonal movements of various distances. The sixth side is a star matching the home spaces: the goal is to manipulate your blocks next to your opponent's home space, then roll them onto the home space with the star facing up to remove them. This is the key of the game, as you have to ensure the proper position and orientation of blocks ahead of getting them to home! And if you happen to leave your pieces in a vulnerable position, your opponent's cubes can block you or even "Deblockle" you by trapping your blocks while they continue moving! As an added bonus, less-skilled players can use fewer blocks than their opponent to even the playing field. For 2 players. Variable playtime based on # of blocks (5-30 minutes).
