Beginning with instructions to identify 8 things that they wish to learn and action steps to choose 8 books to use as their schoolbooks, children are then set free to learn and create through the guided activity pages. Children are expected to complete 10 (or more) pages per day. Pages are similarly formatted and begin with copying a verse or quote. The next step directs students to create a prayer list (no Scripture references are included) and then develop a brief to-do list. The next pages to be completed daily include: art and logic games, creative writing prompts, nature study drawing page, (open-ended), reading time, spelling time (no word list included), film/movie study, a math practice sheet (no problems included), copywork from their reading book and a place to track current events. Occasional writing practice, listening time pages for audio books/classical music, free drawing pages or animal quiz pages journal pages are included. In sync with the self-directed learning model, students are given the opportunity to freely create a personalized journal based on their individual, delight directed interests. Required supplies include pencils, colored pencils, pens, markers, and black drawing pens; along with personally selected books and audios.
