Brew It Yourself Root Beer Kit

After reading the simple instructions, I have the urge to make a batch of yummy home-made root beer! The box includes some simple supplies: flavor extract, a funnel, a packet of champagne yeast and some labels. You will need to use your own sugar, 2-liter bottles with screw caps (2 of these), mixing bowls, saucepan, ladle and a cooking thermometer. With adult supervision, and reading carefully, create your own concoction! You are creating a chemical reaction – so count this as a science experiment. I liked reading about the history of handcrafted sodas (or do you call it pop?) – so count this as a history lesson. You are also in the kitchen – so count it as a life skill.
