Basic Language Skills Curriculum Pack
Utilizing engaging, creation-based children's storybooks which are designed to capture your student's heart and promote a love of reading, Basic Language Skills provides review and expansion of phonics along with beginning communication skills and language arts. Coverage includes reading practice, trickier vowel sounds, writing words/sentences, and picture study. An interesting continuing activity is the weekly work completing the student's own personal dictionary. Word selections from the reading books are given to the student to write and illustrate using preformatted pages and reproducible pages. As part of the Master Books Language Arts curriculum series, use this course for one semester following Foundation Phonics or for a full year with students who have had introductory phonics in kindergarten. The user-friendly Teacher Guide includes daily, guided lessons, schedules for either a half or a full year, reproducible worksheets, and an answer key. No teacher prep is needed. The book is 3-hole punched and perforated. The Teacher Guide is sold separately or in a Curriculum Package with the three picture storybooks: Not Too Small At All (Grandpa Mouse's journey to the ark), Charlie & Trike in the Grand Canyon Adventure (a monkey, a dinosaur; pull-out features, maps, flaps, and a panoramic three-page Grand Canyon drawing), and A Special Door (Noah's Ark/Jesus; featuring beautiful illustrations and flaps).
