Modern World History-Based Writing Lessons Student Book
Description
This Student Book contains assignments, instructions, engaging source texts, blank outlines, and checklists. Literature suggestions and access to vocabulary cards, Simplified Source Texts, Advanced Additions and other helpful PDF downloads are included.
These lessons are designed to be used by an instructor who has been through the Teaching Writing: Structure and Style seminar, either live or on DVD/video.
Covering events and themes of modern world history, the 30 lessons cover all nine Structure and Style units. Students will produce a formal essay and a formal critique in addition to writing from notes, summarizing a reference, writing from pictures, summarizing multiple references, and inventive writing. Each lesson is designed to take a week and there is a four-day plan provided at the beginning of each lesson to break down assignments for each day. While writing activities make up the majority of each lesson, there are also vocabulary studies. The Student Book is consumable but is reproducible (for single family purchasers). Both the Student Book and the Teacher Book include a blue page at the beginning of the book with information on accessing PDF downloads that are also needed for the course.
