These American History flashcards from Memoria Press are a component of the 200 Questions About American History course, but can also be used independently. There are 203 cards included with four different categories: 150 drill questions such as “Who was the English sailor who discovered Cape Cod?”; 30 timeline/date questions such as “What was the date of the Boston Massacre?”; 20 Notable Quotes questions such as “Who said, ‘Don’t give up the ship!’?”; and 44 United States President questions such as “His policies were known as the Square Deal (1901-1909)—who is it?” These are typical flashcards with the question on one side and the answer on the back: a fun alternative for learning interesting history facts either at home or on the road. Quiz yourself a little each day to help lay a solid foundation in American history! Shrink-wrapped cards are 3 ½” x 2 ½”. Cards feature one rounded corner for keeping the cards facing the same way.

Description
These cards are based on our 200 Questions About American History study guides, but can be used with any good American history course. Who financed Columbus first voyage? Who was President during World War I? These are basic questions that everyone should know about American History.
This course is amazing! It lays a solid American History foundation in preparation for the high school years and is one of the best memory work programs I’ve seen! Students will need the Memoria Press one-volume reprinting of the Guerber classics The Story of the Thirteen Colonies and the Great Republic (first 24 weeks) and The Story of the World Volume 4 (last 8 weeks). The course prioritizes reading from the text before using the Student Guide and Flashcards to help them get the facts “down pat.” Both the Student Guide and Teacher Guide include the suggested 34-week schedule, coordinating the reading of both Texts with the memory work. The 200 questions in the Student Guide include drill questions (names, events, places, and causes), timeline (supply the dates), notable quotes (who said it?), and presidents (supply president’s name, dates in office, and a notable event). Also included are several poems typically associated with American History. The first half of the Teacher Guide mirrors the student pages with answers filled in. The second half includes seven Tests with a Test Answer Key. Students should plan for one day a week for reading the text and at least one or two additional days for memory work. This program coordinates perfectly with The Story of the Thirteen Colonies and the Great Republic Course by Memoria Press!
