Publisher's Description of Man Eater - Book 6 (Extreme Adventures)
Sam Fox is at a youth conference in Africa when the bus takes off without him, leaving him stranded. Within minutes he's attacked by an angry elephant and half-blinded by a spitting cobra. A young Masai tells Sam he needs medical attention fast! But the only way to the hospital is through the Chui Hills. The same hills being terrorized by a ferocious, man-eating leopard...
Join Sam Fox on his series of dangerous misadventures that will have you on the edge of your seat! Sam is a teenager who seems to always find himself in the midst of a dangerous situation, whether being attacked by a dangerous animal or getting caught in a natural disaster of some sort such as a bushfire or giant wave. It seems like bad things always happen; will he ever be safe? These books are exciting reads you won't want to put down!
Parents, some of the action might be a little violent for your preferences. For example, in Shark Bait, Sam is captured by parrot smugglers who later shoot at him as he makes an escape and one of the smugglers is even killed by a cassowary. Also, there is a little bit of misinformation about some of the animals in the books, but these are otherwise a very energetic read. These would be great for a student who needs to work on chapter book skills: exciting and quick starting. Approx. 140 softcover pages each. - Laura
