Description

The Teacher Books have identical pages to the student books but add grey boxes which provide additional info, writing samples, answers and talking points. The two books are designed to be used together, and I think it would be unwise and difficult to try to use one without the other. This course introduces six-paragraph essays, supporting a thesis statement, arguments for/against, and inventing soliloquies to support an argument.

Publisher's Description of Writing & Rhetoric Book 6: Commonplace Teacher

Writing & Rhetoric Book 6: Commonplace continues the development of the art of persuasive writing and oration. * Use comparison and contrast

* Invent soliloquies to support an argument

Enriching
The text is engaging, thought provoking, and offers a wealth of guidance and practice for students. The story excerpts made for enjoyable reading. These short passages engendered students critical analysis as they rewrote the stories and were given feedback on the elements of literature and well written papers. Exceptional.

Why did you choose this?

We really enjoy this series. There's a lot to appreciate about how it teaches writing, and my son finally is enjoying writing after failed attempts with the IEW curriculum.

I love this series. We have completed Books 1-5, and my reluctant writers are doing extremely well with it. The stories almost "trick" them into writing by giving them great stories to write about.

This entire program is a wonderful, incremental introduction to writing and rhetoric. The stories are wonderfully chosen and encourage deep conversations and thoughtful writing. We love it!

This is the next book in the writing series we are using and enjoying
