Publisher's Description of Bible Treasures - Genesis to Ruth
Bible Treasures: Genesis to Ruth is the first of what will be a three-part Bible story book series based on Catherine Vos's original Bible story book. It is well-illustrated, containing stories, questions, and memorization activities, including the well-known First Catechism. The goal is to help students understand God's wonderful plan of redemption. The book is divided into 36 weekly units, with five lessons per unit. At the end of each week, students will be able to actively participate in fun crafts and activities that will help them review and remember their lessons, with a cumulative review unit at the end of the text. An answer key is found after the cumulative review.
This series is wonderful for your young ones, especially if you just want simple, straightforward Bible stories presented in chronological order. Each consumable (non-reproducible) book has 36 units (one per week), each unit is divided into 5 lessons, and each lesson is one to two pages in length. The first four lessons in each unit include a Bible story that has been adapted from The Child's Story Bible by Catherine Vos. At the end of each story, there are two questions about the story, one thought question, one question from the First Catechism, and a memory verse (this is the same for the whole week. The questions about the story can be answered with a word or two; the thought question is for discussion with your child. The fifth lesson in each unit is a 'review' lesson and includes a review of the memory verse and Catechism questions from that week along with a reinforcing activity - draw a picture of ways you can obey, retell the Bible story in their own words, build a miniature tabernacle of craft sticks, etc.
An answer key is included at the back of the book for your convenience, and a colorful illustration is found at the beginning of each unit. Scriptures are the New King James Version. ~ Donna
I love this book. There are 180 daily lessons or pages that teach bite-size, simplified lessons. These are great readings that are perfect for my elementary aged children, but also helped me learn and understand more about the New Testament. After each short reading, there are 3-4 questions confirming understanding. There are also memory verses that are repeated for several days. We did not do the memory verses, but we did read them and discuss their meaning in relation to the story. After every section, there are additional comprehension questions that are true/false, matching, or fill in the blank. The book in in chronological order as presented in the NT and stories that are longer will pick up the next day in it's continuation so there is no skipping around. I did all the readings and questions orally and it took no more than 5 minutes a day. There are a few optional, fun, light activities at back of book like mazes and matching, but not many. Overall, the daily readings are insightful and do a great job summarizing the New Testament into bite size, kid-friendly stories. Despite the brevity of daily readings, it still would go into details about the different places Paul travelled and with whom and why. It also would clarify things to kid-level such as why winds blowing the wrong direction would be a problem for people on a ship in that time. I will be purchasing additional Bible Treasures books that teach about the Old Testament now. I highly recommend this book.

We are 3 weeks into this Bible curriculum and loving it. It is thorough yet easy enough for my 5 year old to understand. This has opened us up to so many wonderful conversations. I highly recommend this!

Love it
We absolutely love this Bible. It goes through the Bible in three books over three years. Everything you need is on one book. I use it for older than the recommended ages. It is a short lesson, catechism, and memory verse. It takes about 10 minutes to do. Our favorite Bible study.

Previously used the Studying God's Word by CLP with my 3 children and loved them, but the first 3 in the series, A,B,C are out of print. I think these are meant to replace them. So I'm giving them a…
