Both art text and workbook, this large volume contains 260 daily lessons and can be used over a span of years. While over 100 lessons deal with drawing, Barry has branched out into other areas as well, including color, penmanship, art appreciation, measurement, and painting. Most of the student's work is done in the book, but the painting lessons use sturdy posterboard cards (referred to as "paint packs") which come with the book. Materials needed include a 2B or 4B drawing pencil, kneaded eraser, ruler, black extra-fine point marker pen, colored pencils (12),ketch book, poster board, paint brushes (3 or 4), and acrylic paints (2-oz. of red, blue, yellow and white). A well-rounded course with lots of variety. 310 pgs.

Great program for multiple ages!
I bought this for my kids, ages 12, 10, and 7. They all love it and can work at their own pace. They have all learned more about colors and have been challenged to draw things they thought they couldnt draw.

Great Art Lessons!
I absolutely recommend this resource to everyone. I grew up in a school system that offered art from kindergarten through high school and I went on after graduation to study at the Art Institute of Houston. I Love Art! I am in my 11th year of homeschooling my children and ended up working part time (for a great cause!), so I have less time to teach all that I would like, and decided to buy this program for my 3rd and 4th graders. We really enjoy having the Artist instruct the lesson on the DVD and doing the work in a workbook is perfect for keeping everything together. Plus, the kids can grab their workbooks and take the work along with us when we cant be at home for Art. All the information is there in the book and the Artist teaches them on the DVD, all the supplies we need are in the package. It makes real art lessons possible and fun!
