A Concise History of the American Republic is a curriculum that addresses political, cultural, and economic aspects of American history. The 800+ page Text is a reader that is divided into
36 chapters. Covering pre-Columbian native American history and cultures
briefly, it provides a grand and detailed sweep of American history through the
Reagan Era, with chapters tending toward 10-30 year segments. Marked by
authoritative scholarship yet written in a narrative style and illustrated with
30 maps and over 250 paintings, cartoons, and photographs, this will be both a
challenging and an enjoyable read for the serious student.
The Student Guide
is consumable, providing a course outline with worksheets for each chapter
broken into the following categories: Introduction, Key Concepts, Comprehension
Questions, Essay Questions, and Other Activities. The Quizzes & Tests book
helps evaluate student progress and mastery for all 36 chapters. The Teacher
Manual includes an introduction, overview, summary, and conclusion for each
chapter, with reduced student pages and answers filled in. This course can be
used in either a class or homeschool setting, but students will receive the
most benefit when there is opportunity for engaging discussion/conversation
with a teacher or parent.
