Description
Publisher's Description of Grammar and Composition III (Revised)
Strengthen your grammar and writing skills with Grammar and Composition III. Grammar and Composition III is a work-text with perforated tear-out pages that is organized by the progression of simple concepts to the more challenging ones. The daily lessons provided enforce grammar concepts such as active and passive verbs, punctuation, capitalization, parts of speech, paragraph unity, and more that your students will apply to their writing exercises and persuasive research paper.

Students start with a review of sentence types and structure, then focus on capitalization and punctuation, before moving on to parts of speech, and usage with a focus on writing style. Throughout these sections, "Writer's Corner" assignments progress in each unit, focusing on thesis and essay, literary dramatization, short story, and the literary essay. This level adds a section to each unit: Improving Communication, which highlights such skills as concise writing, business writing, proofreading skills, effective listening, parallel structure, and effective listening. The composition section reviews the writing process, paragraph development, and the outline tools needed to write a critical book review and a research paper. Includes a grammar and diagramming handbook, documentation appendix, and index. The course requires the consumable student text and the spiral bound teacher key (full student text with answers and full Grammar Handbook). For testing, use the consumable student quiz and test booklet, and the teacher quiz and test key. Use the Supplementary Exercises (with perforated pages) for students needing more grammar, usage, and mechanics' practice. ~ Ruth
