This coloring book can be used in conjunction with the ABC See, Hear, Do: Level 4 – Learn to Read Blended Ending Sounds. As your student colors each blend ending and animal, they will be reminded yet again of the sound that blend makes. For more phonics fun, animal puppet cutouts for each blend ending are included for your student to color and cut out. Coloring has many benefits for a young learner:
· It helps their physical development and improves their fine motor skills, hand strength, and writing skills. Gripping a crayon helps to develop muscles in the fingers, hands, and wrists.
· Coloring helps children develop concentration, focus, and cognitive development. It can be a calming and relaxing activity for children. A sense of accomplishment comes from completing a project and being creative.
Level 4 builds on what has been learned in the first three levels. A total of 17 blend ending sounds will be learned along with making hand motions. Then students will practice combining CVCC and blend ending sounds to make four or five letter words. The blend has a line connecting the two or three letters, making it clear that they should be sounded out together. The list of blend endings learned are as follows: ck, ed, er, ing, ld, lf, lk, ll, lt, mb, mp, nd, nk, nt,, ph, ss, tch. With each blend ending, a list of three words will follow for practice giving 51 new words learned. At the end of the book, there are an additional 40 words without guide pictures under them to offer a reading challenge.

*If your student is new to this program, either level 1 or level 2 Learn to Read books will be helpful in learning the individual letter sounds and motions. Level 3 teaches 17 beginning blend sounds.
