Enough for closer to 7 Petri dishes
The product is fine but wasn't nearly enough. I should've assumed worse case scenario when reading how much it would fill, but after buying 2 of these (6 grams total), I was barely able to fill 11 Petri dishes for our co-op. I needed 21. It's my error but wanted to share so others won't have to make the same mistake.

Why did you choose this?

For our science experiments, making Agar is a pain so I'm glad I found it already done up.

My child needed this for their science fair.

Replace used up agar in order to grow bacteria at home.

Is this nutrient agar? Or will I have to add that in addition?

Although you will have to combine this agar powder with distilled water, boil, and set up, it will then be ready to use and will be suitable for growing bacteria colonies.

I'm confused. Does this come with ONLY the agar or does it come with the petri dishes as well? The picture and description are a bit different.

This item is just the agar and is a replacement for the agar in the Biological Culture Kit - #46300 which includes both petri dishes (5), agar, and an inoculating needle.
