A Rich and Beautiful Literature Program
A wonderful literature curriculum and the workbook assignments are related to the fiction pieces included. Its a secular program, but the stories are rich and the values promoted more than compatible with our Christian worldview. We also like that the stories are set in different countries and time periods, giving us an opportunity to experience other cultures.

just buy the textbook!
I purchased the complete sets of Ruby and Pearl for my 4th and 6th graders. The stories in the textbook are great as are the questions and writing activities. I also bought the workbooks and the teachers manual, which came at a hefty price. Do not buy them! The workbooks are confusingly written, and often my children and I do not understand how to complete an activity or it seems pointless. The teacher's manual is expensive and unnecessary, with so many extra questions and discussion points that if you did everything, literature would be the ONLY subject you completed each day.

Excellent book!
I use this to tutor one of my clients in reading. Good price for this book. I like that it asks questions before each story, so that they will think about various ideas while reading.

I love this curriculum!
This is a beautiful book. It introduces setting, plot, theme, internal and external struggle, resolution, etc. Each story has a lesson and guides the reader into their own moral compass where they can put themselves into another's shoes and feel compassion and empathy. The corresponding workbook allows for further discussion and in-depth thinking. The student works on vocabulary words, cursive handwriting, creative writing, and reading comprehension. I just love it and so do my daughters! I plan to continue with Mosdos Press literature books.

Great find and a few bucks less than what my daughter's private school wanted.
