These handwriting books provide printing and cursive instruction in one convenient location, covering individual letters to complete sentences. Each book begins with a couple of activities to get students comfortable with the instructional style of the book. Students are first asked to identify the different types of lines in ruled paper (top, mid, and writing) and then to "learn the language" of the books. These two exercises seek to help students better understand the written instructions of the book. For example, to form the lowercase print letter "o," students are instructed to "Start at the mid line. Curve left, down to the writing line. Continue to curve around up to the mid line." No additional handwriting instruction is included. Letter formation instruction is the same in the left and right hand books, although there is a format difference. Right-hand books present the letters and words on the left hand side of the page; left-hand books present the letters and words on the right hand side of the page. Each book covers both lowercase and capital letters, and letters are grouped together by letter "families" such as curve letters or slant letters. One full page is devoted to each letter of the alphabet, and plenty of review activities are provided for additional writing practice. Books measure 8 ½" x 11" (portrait orientation) and are 100+ pages in length. Ruling is 1/2" for the print workbooks and 7/8" for the cursive books. Top spiral bound. Not reproducible. - Enh/Deanne
The bok is very good, although I really havent had much time ti use it. I have worked with it a little as time permits, and plan to continue. I like it and am glad I bought it.

lefty-friendly cursive practice
This practice book is coming in handy for my lefty. The words she is practicing are within sight and easy to follow. There are suggestions in the book to practice letters or words and then to try them with your eyes shut. This seems a bit strange, honestly. But I like the sizing for the letters and general layout otherwise.

Great for lefties!
I tried two other very popular handwriting programs for my left-handed kiddo. He did ok with both programs, but never fully got the hang of using either. Since switching to Powerful Printing & Conquering Cursive, his handwriting has improved so much! I also really like that it's so affordable. There are two things that seem to really set this apart for lefties: the spiral is on top (so out of the way) and letter/word examples are on the right side of the page (so can be seen while writing left-handed). My 8 year old is having so much fun learning cursive, and he asks to work on it almost daily.

This cursive program is specifically for Lefties. It gives tips and teaches to left handed students. The top spiral allows for proper page placement.

I am so glad I came across these handwriting books! I have 2 left-handed sons both of whom have been struggling with writing We had tried a couple of other printing and cursive workbooks with very little success Then I stumbled across Powerful Printing and Conquering Cursive Left-Handed Workbooks At first I thought the step-by-step instructions for each letter were a little annoying but it turns out these detailed instructions are what my children needed to really understand how to form the letters correctly Being right-handed myself I didn't realize what a difference it would make having the examples on the right side of the page It makes such a huge difference! My older boy frequently comments on how he likes not having to move his hand to see the exampleI wish I would have found these books much earlier!

I love that all of the sample words are placed on the right hand side of the page so they are never covered up as the student writes. The layout makes it so much easier for a left handed student to learn.

I have an adult son who is left-handed and struggled in school to learn cursive. He now wants to conquer cursive and this book looked like the perfect resource to help him with that goal. Thank you.

My dad was left handed and he always said how hard learning cursive was because of it. Now I have a son of my own in 3rd grade and I don't want him to have a difficult time. This seems like a great…
