Description

Designed to be read aloud and discussed as a family, this book is filled with beautiful and timeless tales from around the world! You don’t need to be in a Classical Conversations program to use this book, though it correlates perfectly with the Foundations Cycle 1 history & geography. For ease of use, stories are divided and numbered over 24 weeks, but can be read in any order you like. Each week includes 2 stories and 1 fable from countries like Africa, China, Greece, Japan, Persia, India & Israel. The pages are thick and glossy, containing both color and black & white illustrations. Many families spend about 30 minutes 2-3 times a week reading and discussing the stories. Some stories do contain difficult subject matter, which provides an opportunity for questions to be pondered and for parents to share important beliefs about hard things in the world. Children and adults alike will find favorites they want to read again and again! 320 pgs, paperback.
