Description

What do sight words, pizza cravings, and multi-sensory action have in common? Mastering sight words! This unique board game helps children master sight words to improve reading skills and have fun while doing it! Game play is straightforward. Draw a word card and complete the five action steps. Depending on the card selected, the child will perform one of nine actions including writing with their “tail” or nose, jumping, stomping, tracing, tapping arm, counting letters, writing in the sky, or on the table. Each motion is accompanied by saying and spelling the sight word as the action steps progress. Successful completion of the card allows the kangaroo playing piece to advance the number of spaces indicated on the card. The goal is to be the first (or beat the racoon) to the pizza! Three-hundred High Frequency Sight Words are included and divided into three levels: Easy, moderate, and more difficult. The game includes rules for competitive or cooperative game play. Complete instructions, a summary sheet of the 9 actions, and an introduction to the science of reading are also included. Watch reading confidence soar amidst laughter, not tears, through this innovative multisensory game! For 1-6 players. 20-minute game play. ~Deanne
