Analogies
make us think about language. With little kids, an analogy might be “An
apple is to fruit as a carrot is to ___.“ The answer is, of course, vegetables.
As a child’s language skills grow, so do analogies. Noticing similarities and
differences, patterns, and categorizing are critical thinking skills. This book
takes these skills and moves beyond. You will work with figures of speech
though literature and scripture, forcing you to read the text more closely.
Analogies train us to see connections, and relationships in all things. This is
a single, consumable worktext with answers in the back. I suppose it could be
done independently, but would be much more fun with others. Used in Classical
Conversations Challenge A. Contains Christian content. ~Sara
