Description
Publisher's Description of Primary Mathematics Tests 4A Standards Edition
Primary Mathematics Tests is a series of differentiated assessments that provide educators with a systematic way to evaluate student progress and address individual needs. Apart from testing, the problems can also be used for extra practice. Features & Components:
  • Each chapter comprises Test A and Test B.
  • Each unit concludes with Cumulative Tests A and B.
  • Test A consists of free response questions and assesses comprehension of key concepts and problem solving skills.
  • Test B consists of multiple-choice questions and tests the application of analytical skills, thinking skills, and heuristics.
  • Cumulative Tests include questions from earlier units. These tests focus on review, consolidation, and integration.
  • Answers are included in the back of each book.
Note: Tests are specific to each Primary Mathematics edition, and are not interchangeable across editions. Soft cover. Perforated pages.

Primary Math Standards Edition was adapted to meet the pre-Common Core California math standards. If you compare the Primary Math US Edition and Standards Edition, some topics have been rearranged, and the Standards Editions has additional content covering probability and data analysis, negative numbers, and coordinate graphing. A glossary of terms was added to each of the textbooks. In levels 2A through 5B there is now a cumulative review after most units in both the textbook and the workbook. 6A and 6B feature reviews after every other unit. Many of the units have a few pages that have been added in order to "reteach" a concept from an earlier level. Each grade consists of two semester sets to be completed in one year, the A textbook and workbook for first semester and B textbook and workbook for second semester.

The Teacher’s Guide provides instruction, as well as daily lesson plans, assignments, answers to the textbook and workbook assignments, lists of suggested manipulatives, and reproducibles. Although written for classroom use, they are fairly easy to use one-on-one. Teacher’s Guides also include a 6-month subscription to Math Buddies, an online program created by the publisher for practice and reinforcement. Please note that we currently do not stock the Home Instructor Guides

Sets include a textbook, workbook, and teacher guide. If you don’t need all of the information in the Teacher Guide, multi-grade Answer Keys are available separately. Optional supplements for each grade include the Test Books (A and B), and the Extra Practice Books (one book covers both A and B at grade level).

Quite thorough and challenging
9 year old, dyslexic and highly distractible boy. I've always had to do the tests as a separate day. I'll only be using the end of unit tests this year. If I did all the recommended tests, it would add 30 days to our math year. It already takes 37 + weeks. But this is a very tough and thorough math program.
