Great Math Resource for Young Children
This is the 4th time I’ve purchased this book, and I’ll use it again for any kindergartner who likes to use workbooks. It’s very pleasing to the eye and attractive to small children because of the bright colors. Although it does work well as a standalone, there are some pages you won’t be able to do without manipulative. We have them all, so that’s fine for us. You do not need the textbook or the teacher guide for this, but if you have them, they are also great resources.

Fun starting point
This book seems better suited to prekindergarten level, it has basic patterns, shapes, and forming the numbers. We really like the chapters in the back about measuring and capacity. It's a fun start to math.

I love it for preschool or kindergarten math!
I would recommend this. I really like how Singapore moves students gradually through the concrete/representational/abstract stages of math development. As a person who struggled with math for years I can see this system filling in all the holes I missed.

We used Singapore Math Early Bird for my K She enjoyed the colorful pages I thought it went at a good pace; not too fast not too slow Early Bird Math taught basic K math: graphing simple addition simple subtraction shapes measurement weight patterns comparison and sorting This is pretty much an "open and go" curriculum except for gathering some simple manipultives used for counting weighting etc You decide how many pages you do a day/week with your child We did much of it verbally The teachers manual is not necessary We also bought the Earlybird Activity Books and Earlybird Readers for more practice and for fun! This is a great curriculum and I'm eager to use it again w my younger 2 children!

We use Singapore Math for all 4 of our children so it seemed natural to start our kinders with it (two at the same time in K) My suggestion is to purchase "Power Math-K" isbn is 981-04-1817-5 to use as a supplement with your child It has filled in the gaps for one of our kiddos that desired a little more :O)I personally am a huge fan of Singapore Math But know there are a lot of great programs out there

This product is very helpful to a newbie homeschooler who just isn't sure what a K'er would be learning in school It is an open-and-go curriculum that needs no preparation A few manipulatives are helpful but items from around the house are easily substituted for the book's recommendations Using some of the recommended activities helps to facilitate learning to children with different learning styles Although the recommended age is Kindergarten we used it for Pre-K with no problems
