Description
The Student Books are amazing. Full of colorful artwork and photos as well as black & white illustrations, vocabulary tidbits, maps, and biographical sketches, it is skillfully formatted into an appealing and engaging text. Each of the 28 chapters (i.e. weekly lessons) have text interspersed with Narration Breaks (place to stop and recount orally the information that has been covered) and "Analyze/Connect" (Worlds Story). Each chapter ends with a two-page photo montage (a feature I love) that pertains to the chapters focus. For instance, there are montages of an ancient city such as Jerusalem or Kerma in Sudan.
Publisher's Description of World's Story 2: Middle Ages

Students will cover the Middle Ages through the Renaissance, beginning with the fall of Rome and surveying history from around the world.

Angela O'Dell's World's Story series uses the same fun style of her popular America's Story series to teach junior-high students about world history. Students will learn about everything from the fall of Rome to the Renaissance in a survey that covers Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Written from a strong Christian perspective, students will see God's hand throughout history and learn about how this history is still relevant to their lives today.

Love this curriculum
Coming from a Charlotte Mason writing style, I appreciate this student textbook for its quality of content, illustrations and overall approach to the "fall of Rome through the Renaissance." This book covers 28 chapters and can being used as a stand-alone or purchased with the teacher's guide, which also includes student worksheets, for a complete curriculum set.

As a parent, I feel I'm re-learning history with our children in a more significant way. I love history and Angela O'Dell's history texts have a way of making history feel more alive. She puts stories in context and relates events to both the time period they occurred in and helps readers to relate past events to current day happenings.Write your review here. Why did you choose this?

I have used Masterbooks for science and loved it! I use Beautiful Feet for History and sometimes the spine books they use are pretty dry, so I thought I'd try this for the spine to go with my…

Biblical foundation, a great spine to help guide our study on the middle ages time period. I don't bother with the teacher guide which is mainly worksheets, and we use it as a jumping off point for…

These books make history interesting. You can always dive deeper on your own, but not every kid loves history, and these books make it fun for those kids, too.
