Publisher's Description of VideoText Algebra Module A Set (DVD format)
It is generally understood that the study of Algebra is the study of relations. Relations of first-degree should be mastered first and are addressed in this Module A. In fact, as instructors, we all understand that relations of any degree other than one must be "reduced" to relations of first-degree, or "factored" into linear or first-degree factors, before they can be resolved. The impact of this understanding on the scope and sequence of Algebra content, is to organize the various types of relations, by degree. In this course, first-degree relations are examined exhaustively before higher-order relations are encountered.

My math student was able to work through module A with minimal help from me The presentation from the videos was clear and concise He thought the content moved slowly at times but appreciated the thoroughness of the explanations He uses the course notes to review the video lesson and then does the problems in the worktext We didn't quiz for every lesson but we did use all the progress tests I like that the publisher provides 2 versions of the quizzes and the tests so you can retake or use one for a study guide The teacher prep time is very small Usually I would skim the course notes before or during the video lecture and then let my son work the problems The set up of the program really allowed him to set the pace and I just keep track of where he is so we can pause for quizzes and tests I believe strengths of VideoText are that the material is presented in small increments and the material is presented in video then in the course notes and then the student works the problems The program requires someone to check the students work - but I see that as a positive as it keeps me engaged in the math my student is learning We are so pleased that we are well on our way into Module B and plan to continue this course through the end of the Algebra series
