My First Origami Animals Kit
This is the perfect kit to get a child interested in origami, including a detailed instruction book with 17 different animals, 60 sheets to use with the projects, and even 180 stickers that can be used to decorate finished projects. Many of the stickers are eyes to add to the animals, as well as little accessories that are typically related to the animals featured. The instructions for each project are illustrated with a picture of each step of the folding process. Dotted lines and little arrows and indents show visibly what folds need to be made in which directions. Each step also has a written demonstration of what fold needs to be done. The animals in this kit include Speedy the turtle, Khloe Kitty, Patches the panda, and more! The included paper even includes some unique patterns to go along with each project!
When I was about 2nd or 3rd grade, I was gifted my first origami book and absolutely loved it! I was sometimes frustrated that I could not comprehend all of the included projects, but as I got older, I was able to progress more and more to harder projects in the book. Children may not grasp every project all at once, and that’s ok. It’s a gradual learning process, that seems to get a bit better with each fold. I still love origami to this day! Although every project may not be immediately understandable, I personally feel like the projects in this kit are easy enough for children to enjoy and understand, even if it takes a little time or more than one try.
Once the models are folded, the fun continues with all sorts of stickers--eyes, noses, paws and more--to make the models look as silly or serious as they want. Kids will be so proud to show off their very first origami animals!
These kits are great for getting people, young and old alike, into the art of origami. Each kit includes a detailed instruction manual, origami paper sheets, and stickers for decorating the finished projects. The Animals kit is geared more towards children, and is a lot more beginner friendly. The Fairy Tales kit is better for older children and teens or those with some previous origami experience.
