Mastery of basic grammar facts. Independent student work. Lots of review and practice. That's what Easy Grammar provides. It's convenient and takes no teacher prep time. The general idea is to introduce grammar gently to young students (Easy Grammar Daily Guided Teaching, grades 1-2). The middle school years (grades 3-7) focus on systematic instruction and provide lots of practice to master the basics as well as daily review. The secondary years (Easy Grammar Ultimate, grades 8-12) continue daily review, coupled with some advanced instruction. The courses vary in structure at different grade levels. Grades 3-6 are similar in structure but grade-level appropriate. Easy Grammar Plus is a course that can be used either in 7th grade or as a complete grammar review for older students. Daily Grams, available for grades 3-7, supplements and complements the EG series by providing daily review.
Each grade level Teacher Edition provides bite-size lessons, student practice and assessment pages, and those same pages with answers filled in. Both the practice pages and the tests are reproducible for families. Student Workbooks include lesson and practice pages. Test Books (available for Grades 3 and up) provide pre and post tests as well as sectional tests. Grade level Sets include the Teacher Edition, Student Book and Test Book (if available for that level).

not a fan
wanted to try something that was a workbook format (because we felt our other curriculums didn't focus enough of grammar and writing). Not a fan of this one, switched to BJU English and like it much better (and that is the only BJU item we use)

Why did you choose this?
Can this be a stand alone workbook or do I need to purchase the teacher's book?
The pages of the student book include explanations of the topics, so in that sense, it is a stand alone book. However, the teacher’s guide does contain occasional advice about how to further explain some topics. The greatest benefit of the teacher’s guide is that it has answers to every workbook page. This is a time-saver when checking students’ work. It is possible to use only the teacher’s guide if you want to photocopy the student pages (they are included twice: blank and with answers).
How many lessons are there per week?
These are not divided into lessons that are laid out per week. There are units like nouns, verbs, etc. Each unit has several lessons with lots of practice. We have not done every page of every unit but have gotten through the book in a school year by doing 1-2 pages per day per week. It is very systematic and laid out well. Hope this helps!
How many pages is the student workbook for Easy Grammar 5?
THere are 350 pages. Not all are workbook; some are lesson pages. I teach 5, 6, and 7th grades so if you have any other questions, I'll be happy to answer.
Is the Student's workbook contained in the Teacher' Guide?
Teacher's guide has both the blank student workbook pages and the identical pages with answers.
It is also allowed to be reproduced within family or classroom. So you could buy it and then copy put the blank pages to be used for multiple years. Or you could consume it for the first child and simply buy the student workbook in the following years depending on book and shipping costs versus copy costs.
Does the Teacher's Guide contain the students worksheets and tests?
Yes, it does. It has a blank worksheet (that you can copy) and then the same page with all of the answers written on it. Tests are also included, in this same format. If you don't mind copying the pages (there are a lot), then you only need to purchase the teacher guide.
