Reading skills are growing and you might have a little one
who just wants to read their own books. If so, Learning Without Tears has a
great option for you. In your blue drawstring backpack are 20 black-and-white
3.5” x 5” paper readers. There are 10 nonfiction readers about animals, pilots,
how marbles are made, and more. There are also 10 fiction readers that have
stories about the farm, a knight and a gnome, Jasmin’s sore throat, and others.
The last page of each paper reader is a series of brief comprehension questions
to work on those skills as well. On the back of each reader is a list of Words
to Watch: phonics words, high-frequency words, and knowledge-building words.
