Category Description for Little House Chapter Books

If you have young, independent readers not quite ready for the original Little House books, they might enjoy getting acquainted with Laura through these short chapter books. Each book is approximately 70 pages in length and features abridged stories from those in the original Little House books.

Newly revised editions include revised black-and-white illustrations that seem to give a contemporary rendering to the original Little House book illustrations by Garth Williams. In addition, a variety of games and activities are included in the back of the book. Surprisingly, even in chapter-book form, the tone and "feel" of the chapter books is remarkably like the original series, and many of the most memorable events are captured for early readers to enjoy. Please note, these are currently in transition from Laura chapter books to the Little House chapter books. See graphic or contact us to verify edition. pb. ~ Jess/Deanne
