Across America Fluxx Game
Get the roof rack ready, pack up the car and hit the road! Fluxx is taking us across America on another looney adventure. We embark on this trip with a basic set of rules which is draw one card, then play one card as we find ourselves on a quest to meet the Showtime Goal with a trip out west to Las Vegas and Hollywood! We were just catching a show in Las Vegas when suddenly, the goal changed and now a trip to Orlando becomes our new itinerary. Turn the car around, and head southwest for a 34-hour, 2,356-mile trek to Cape Canaveral and Disney World. No worries – our Keepers collection is growing, and we might win before the goal changes again. A new rule goes into effect that lets us play all but 1 of our cards each round so that might help us play keepers more quickly. We draw and play Cape Canaveral, but alas, our neighbor plays an action card that lets them steal it from us.
Good thing we love road trips! Passing through Colorado and Texas, we gain the Alamo and Mesa Verde Keepers. We are on a roll! Will we make it to Florida in time to complete our trip to Orlando? Never mind – we draw the Former Fortresses Goal, play it and since our Colorado collection includes Mesa Verde, and we remember that Texas took us to the Alamo we suddenly win! Looney does it again with another fun, ever-changing, wacky card playing experience for 2-6 players. Playtime is 10-30 minutes.
Road trip! Yes, the ever-changing card game is hitting the road and seeing the sites on a drive across the United States of America. From famous landmarks to national parks, it's got everything from the Golden Gate Bridge to the Statue of Liberty, including the Grand Canyon, Hollywood, Cape Canaveral, Devil's Tower, the monuments of DC, and, of course, Amusement Parks. Perfect for vacations or armchair travelers, Across America Fluxx includes a few special twists, including the New Rule "Play All Day" and an Action called "Route 66." Who calls shotgun?
This is a truly chaotic game for the whole family! The entire deck is shuffled and players are dealt 3 cards each. The game begins with only a couple of basic rules, but new rules can be played and goals changed. There are four types of cards in Fluxx: Keepers, Goals, Actions, and New Rules. Keepers are the core of the game and are used to fulfill the current Goal (such as playing a certain combination of Keepers). Actions often affect one player, but can force everyone to draw cards, play cards, and even change the rules! Finally, New Rules add a whole new level of chaos by mandating how the game is played. During each turn, players draw and play as many cards as dictated by the current rules, striving to complete the current goal. But as you may have guessed, this is easier said than done; rules and goals are constantly in flux, requiring luck and timing to achieve victory!
Different versions of Fluxx maintain the basic game play and mainly change Keepers and Goals (for example, Math Fluxx has number cards as Keepers, with the goal of playing the number of your current age, the current date, or other specific numbers). 2-6 players; 5-30 minutes.
