Based on the 5E science teaching model: Engage, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate, this series helps parents and teachers supplement curriculum through a variety of activities. Each grade level workbook begins with a teacher overview and the student pages to teach and illustrate the concept. Vocabulary words are also emphasized. After the reading, there are several worksheets to ensure comprehension of vocabulary and concepts. Various hands-on activities are included and vary from craft activities to hands-on experiments. Supplies necessary are listed prior to the activity and are easily accessible. Reflection questions and projects conclude each unit. Student pages are reproducible for one classroom or family. Answer Key is included in the back. An excellent complement to a living book or unit study approach to science, or for families wanting to ensure their children are following the Next Gen Standards in Science.
