Make history come ALIVE for your children! Designed to go along with The Story of the World Volume 3: Early Modern Times Text, this Activity Book provides a rich assortment of multi-sensory activities to complement and enrich readings from the Text. Together, the Activity Book and Text make a complete, well-rounded one-year history/geography homeschool curriculum that kids won’t soon forget!
The book is divided into 2 sections: an easy-to-use teacher’s guide with activities organized chapter by chapter in the front and consumable student pages in the back. After reading the history text, turn to the corresponding chapter of the Activity Book, choosing activities that best fit the ages, personalities, and learning styles of your children. You might hold a Japanese tea ceremony, act out sumo wrestling, make your own Mayflower Compact, or cook 17th-century succotash. The Ottoman miniature paintings are especially fun! Consumable Student Pages are photocopiable within a family, but you can always purchase another set for convenience. 497 pgs. sc.

Absolutely- I do. The biggest difference I noticed is the list of recommended additional books has been updated.
While the author will not leave out any historical text that might pertain to Christianity, she does not seem to have a bias. It seems more informative, because she references any religion that was practiced during the time in history that it being studied and how it shaped history.
I probably wouldn't use it for that grade. While, in my opinion, a lot of the activities and extra curricular source investigation in the first half of the book could be beneficial, in the second half (student pages) it's full of simplistic map and coloring pages, which I think a 12 year old might feel silly doing.
My son is 10, but reads at a higher level. I think this is a fabulous book...he seems really engaged. Hope this helps! We purchased the Rainbow Curriculum Set for both my 10 and 7 year olds and we are LOVING it!!! We will do this from now on, as opposed to buying super expensive curriculum. Definitely worth the money!
Love this series!
A lot of fun activities to accompany the text.
Looking to add coordinating activities to this great SS resource.
Fun for the kids
