A brilliantly executed notebook companion to the Nature School guide (026978) for young students. The consumable notebook follows the order of studying biomes and has younger students’ documenting their findings in ways they know how. Students will be expressing themselves through narrations, drawings, simple labeling, coloring, and matching. Line spaces are provided with dotted half lines for easier documentation. Reproducible for individual family use, students are provided a way to express the joy of what they are learning based on their skill level. The sample pdf on the website provides a wonderful scope and sequence to this program but is intended to be self-paced. There are extra coloring pages and unit activity pages to add further study for students. The Science Through Nature Notebook Companions provide student work for the beautifully illustrated Nature School guidebook like questions, sketching, and coloring. Intended to be self-paced through 5 of the major biomes, the guide utilizes hands-on activities, experiments, and practical ways to use the knowledge kids are naturally acquiring. This is not a program that needs to be used cover to cover, it can be interest-led, unit study focused, or based on students’ abilities. For those who need the structure of a scope and sequence there is a Lesson Plan sample to follow. The guidebook on its own is a wonderful resource and adds simple activities at the end of each unit.
