The Writing Art-Inspired Stories – Tell Me a Story kit for grades PK-2 includes 3 visual, easy-to-use, project-based learning ideas—Meet Me!, Colorful Days & Colorful Ways, and Make Stories Shine.

These creative teaching materials feature writing projects for kids that help nurture curiosity, creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking through age-appropriate activities. Kits use a project-based learning foundation so students learn important reading, writing, and creativity skills supported by family. These Writing Kits are a great teaching tool because they support single-classroom, whole-school, and district-wide initiatives and help fulfill Title I Family Engagement requirements as you also address the U.S. Department of Education Family Framework.

Category Description for Writing Art-Inspired Stories Kit

Opportunities for children to express their creativity are always a good idea, but where do you get the ideas? Even if you are not an artist, you can do the projects in here! Crayola has come up with kits including clear instructions and quality art supplies for three activities. These activities range from poetry and calligraphy to understanding your cultural heritage. Parents are prompted with thoughtful questions and encouraged to listen. These would be fun to do over a summer or holiday break, or add them to your curriculum during the year. For Pre-K to grade 2 your three learning ideas are: Meet Me!, Colorful Days & Colorful Ways, and Make Stories Shine. In Grades 3-5, your topics are Colorful World of Animals, Write an Adventure, and The Future I See. In Grades 6-8, tasks include: Change Poems, Hand-drawn Selfies, and Celebrate & Honor. ~Sara
