Category Description for Electronic Snap Circuit Basic Sets

These easy-to-use circuit kits are composed of over 30 easy to snap "blocks" of all necessary electronic components. An impressive number of projects can be made using these parts, including an electric light, a sound activated switch, lamp and fan, two-speed fan, laser "gun." police siren, clap sounds, blinking double flashlight, motor sounds, strobe lights, motor-controlled lamp, lamp/speaker/fan in parallel, pencil alarm, touch motor, bomb sound, simple water alarm, and many, many more projects and games. Each project is listed in the booklet, and featured in a half-page layout which includes a full-color diagram of the finished setup, objective, and directions. The parts are all labeled on the diagram, making it easy to set up the project, and the directions include an explanation of how the circuit works, so maybe after the thrill of creating their own laser "gun" or water alarm wears off, they'll come back and actually figure out how it works. A fairly detailed orientation to the parts in the kit and their functions, safety guidelines, parts checklist and a troubleshooting guide are all included at the beginning, so students can complete the projects safely - and get a lot more from the kit than just "making cool stuff." Looking back from beyond college, I definitely recommend any child looking to the science route in college to play around a bit with one of these kits - it honestly does make understanding circuits and charges at the college level a little easier. This is definitely too fun to be "science!" A Dr. Toy 100 Best Children's Products Winner. - Jess

ALL of my boys love this set! I bought it for my oldest for his 9th birthday Well the younger two (7yo twins) are all over it as well It is easy for them to do all on their own - even my non-readers can follow the directions and are learning things They are even coming up with their own creations! I am liking the looks of the upgrade kits and am certain these will be future gifts as well

We have owned the Junior kit for about 18 months My children are ages 3 6 and 9 and they fight over this kit all the time because it is AWESOME!!! Even the 3 year old can follow the diagrams to assemble a circuit My 9 year old reads the accompanying manual and learns more in depth I am returning to purchase another larger set It is a splurge for me as I am a big penny puncher But when I find a 'toy' that is able to teach advanced concepts in a hands-on way that ALL my children can use and enjoy well that is money well spent! As a side note a good friend of mine and her husband are both physicists; their kids' rooms are full of Snap Circuits They both highly endorse them

My boys ages 5 and 6 started using this kit with their dad's help and soon were able to work through the experiments completely on their own They love it so much that the older one asked to have the upgrade for his birthday and both boys are counting the days until they get to use the new kit They have come to understand so much about electricity and circuitry They know quite a lot more than I do and it's fun for me to be able to ask questions and learn things from them for a changeI also like the way each item has its own place inside the box The boys are very careful to keep their pieces organized and are learning responsibility

I bought this Jr Snap Circuit set at our homeschool conference for our boys ages 8 10 12 They loved it!! So all 3 boys used their money and bought all 3 upgrade sets It is a wonderful way for them to learn electronics in a simple way The symbols used on the pieces are the same symbols in the real world electronics Worth the money if you have children interested in electronics!!! They now are creating their own
