Book One is full of practice pages that
reflect skills learned in about Grades 4-5 (see the table of contents image for
a complete listing.) Instruction is minimal which is why this is a supplement
and not a curriculum. Short, free instructional videos are easily
accessed online, but they are only in English. It would be useful for
additional practice alongside your math program, or even as a summer math
option to insure competency. This is not a spiral or mastery math curriculum.
This is additional practice for a student who needs more pencil/paper time with
concepts to solidify them before moving on.

Publisher's Description of Mastering Essential Math Skills Book 1, Bilingual Edition (English/Spanish)
This is the new bilingual edition. Perfect for English language learners.
Pages are in a side by side format for ideal convenience. Also, perfect for English speakers who want to learn Spanish!
Each lesson in the book includes an online video tutorial taught by the author.
This book is ideal for students who have struggled in math and find math to be hard.
Supplementary
math help that we offer in English are now available in Spanish-English
versions. As the book lies open, you see the Spanish page on the left and the
same page in English on the right. We often speak with families who have a
Spanish-only speaking parent and a student who can do both languages. These
could also be useful with English Language Learners (ELL, ESL), seeing both
languages as a learning tool as they practice math skills. The corresponding
free videos by the author are in English only.
