Description
The 100X-1000X is a bit different from our other microscopes at this level. It offers only 3 levels of magnification - 100X, 400X, and 1000X (for oil immersion). Most microscopes at this level offer a 40X magnification, but this company has chosen to leave off the lower magnification. This model offers a 115mm x 125mm mechanical stage, movable 1.25 Abbe condenser, iris diaphragm, filter holder, and separate coarse and fine focus adjustments with slip clutch. The set includes a dust cover, extra fuse, blue filter disc, and operates on AC only. Note that the immersion oil is not included.

The MS-100, 100-1000X Microscope is an intermediate level Biological Microscope that is ideal for a high school or university student, hobbyist or technician. The Microscope has a monocular head, at 45 degree angle for comfortable viewing, and is rotatable 360 degrees for easy sharing of the specimen view. The Biological Microscope has both coarse and fine focus knobs to help the user to achieve a sharp focus. LED illumination provides a bright white colored light and also has an intensity control to set the optimal lighting conditions. The Biological Microscope has a filter holder with included blue color filter. The included AC power adaptor allows for use internationally without the need for a voltage transformer.

Category Description for Biological Table-Top Microscopes
Always on the lookout for good, quality microscopes, we have found another option. Carson Optical has provided an affordable line of durable, well-built microscopes for use at the elementary and high school levels. Both have a sleek gunmetal gray finish on a cast metal construction, 10X widefield eyepiece, 360° rotatable eyepiece, instruction manual, and LED illumination with dimmer switches. One feature not included on this series is the built-in pointer. Some folks will appreciate this because they feel it gets in the way of their viewing, others will miss it because they feel it pinpoints the specimen being viewed.
There are some differences between these and other microscopes. The 40X-400X microscope is great for elementary students and features two sources of sources of LED lighting, top and bottom. The bottom light allows you to view slides and other transparent objects, and the top light allows you to view solid or opaque objects - you can see Lincoln on the back of a penny, sitting inside the Lincoln Memorial! The 100X-1000X also has some differences; there is no 40X magnification and the microscope is corded; there is no battery option.
