Although Viscounts of the West Kingdom is an engaging strategy game all on its own, the Keeper of Keys expansion adds a few new components that enhance the experience of this game. There are a few new Hero Townsfolk Cards, starting Townsfolk Cards and Player Cards, which bring new and powerful actions to the game. Also new are Treasure Chest Tiles, which players obtain with some of the new card actions. These tiles sit directly below the new player boards and bonuses are available each time a specific resource enters the game board on the space located above it. For example, two trade items on a card above a treasure slot will give you an inkwell or a build icon might allow you to treat a single build as two builds. Also new are public buildings and cards which allow you to substitute an already-built building with a public building of the same type in order to gain victory points at the end of the game, as well as both an immediate effect and ongoing abilities. I think that this expansion is worth adding to Viscounts for a richer game experience. Requires Viscounts of the West Kingdom game to play. For 1-4 players with 60-90 minutes of playing time. ~Marsha
