Pictorial learners will delight in this extravaganza of illustrated content from timelines to captions, telling a story of several important persons from the past. There is text, but the colorful drawings tell much of the stories of inventions spanning the Middle Ages to the 1990s. It almost reads like a comic book, but not quite. Most pages have one main text & image, with snippets of content around the edges. There is enough detail to spark the reader to want to learn more! Some of the inventors include: Gerardus Mercator, Antoine van Leeuwenhoek, Edward Jenner, Samuel Colt, Konstantin Tsiolkovsky, Enrico Fermi and lots more. A glossary in the back is a handy way to grow vocabulary in context. ~Sara
