Description

There are thousands of potential phrases in this fast-paced picture tile–laying game, where each player is challenged to form a phrase consisting of two or more adjacent tiles. The first player to use up all their tiles wins!
Mix up the 120 two-sided hexagonal picture tiles (in six different colors) and randomly give each player 7.  Everyone chooses which side of their tiles to turn face-up for their beginning image pool.  Place one tile from the supply on the table to start and the remaining tiles go back in the box. The starting player places one of their tiles next to the one on the table to form a two-word phrase.  For example, if the tile on the table is a picture of a mouth, they might place a tile that depicts something that could make a loud noise. They immediately say the word or phrase they are trying to make. In this case it might be “loudmouth”.  If most players agree that it is an acceptable answer, the tile stays on the table and the next person starts their turn.  If the player’s tile also matches the color of the tile that it touches, the player can immediately take an additional turn. If the color does not match, play continues to the next player. If the player’s phrase is not successful, they take their tile back and can try again with that tile or another from their tile display. If players are not able to make a phrase within 30 seconds, their turn ends and they may flip over as many of their tiles to the other side as they wish to help them on their next turn.
It is possible to make multiple tile matches on one turn by placing a tile so that it touches more than one on the central display and makes either a longer phrase or more than one phrase. When that occurs, a bonus is awarded, which allows the player to discard tiles from their pile depending on the number of tiles that they used on the central display.
Once any player’s turn ends with no tiles remaining in their pile, they immediately win! As an option, remaining players can continue the game until only one player remains. The manual gives instructions for variants when younger children play or for cooperative experiences. For 2-6 players with a 15-minute play time.
