Printing errors
My sons enjoy Saxon math, but unfortunately there are lots of printing errors in the Algebra 2 we recently bought. My son spends an hour to try to solve a problem which is printed out incorrectly. ... not sure what to do.

Saxon is outstanding
My 14 year old son loves Saxon. He’s is on the last few lessons of Algebra 1, having completed Saxon from the 4th grade texts. Algebra 2 looks challenging from my perspective, but he’s looking forward to it. Given the culture and poor to demented public schools, I encourage everyone to homeschool! You can do it! The resources for homeschooling are outstanding!

Saxon Algebra 2
This is our fifth year of using Saxon. My daughter likes the incremental spiral; it's really helpful for keeping concepts fresh in the student's mind.
She usually spends about 75-90 minutes on Algebra daily. I did give her the option to go with another curriculum for 10th grade, after using Saxon Algebra 1 for ninth, but she decided to stick with Saxon. She stated the lessons do take some time, but that she learns so much from the materials.
I really like that RRC offers the Homeschool Kit that comes with the solutions manual; the SM is a lifesaver. In this Algebra 2 curriculum, there are 129 lessons and 32 tests. So you're definitely set up for 161 days of mathematics. We have used other math curricula in the past that were mastery based, but I came to the conclusion that my student needed spiral.
I love knowing that we're all setup with the Student book, the Homeschool Testing Book (inside are the Test Forms & Test Solutions), a 370-page Solutions Manual, and an Answer Key that houses all answers for all 129 lessons and the Practice Sets.
Hope everyone has a great school year!

Prepares your student for math in Sat testing and Ccllege
We have used and currently still use Saxon Math from Kindergarten through Algebra II with our children. We contemplated using one of the new popular maths, but after comparing, we choose to continue with Saxon. Yes there is a lot of problems for the student to work in each lesson but the review is so valuable to help students to master the concepts being taught and to teach them important problem solving skills. In years past, we tried doing 1/2 of the problem set in each lesson in order to cut down on how much time the children was spending in doing math each day, but found that the children weren't mastering the concepts. We do math 5 days a week in the morning and average time to read through lesson, do practice set, and then all problems in problem set is 1hr to 2 hrs per student depending on the level of Saxon they are in. This might seem like a lot but we have found it necessary to help prepare out students for the future. Note: We use the Dive DVD's to help teach the lessons. They have been extremely helpful.

Great math book
This is a great curriculum for students who benefit from repetition. It covers continuing algebraic concepts as well as a large portion of geometry. It's well written and the problems are explained thoroughly . Also the tests and solutions manual are user friendly.

Why did you choose this?

We have enjoyed the Saxon series. The spiral nature of the curriculum has been perfect for our family.

we have used algebra 1/2 and algebra1. These books are well organized and effective..

It gives my son the challenge he needs in math versus the previous curriculum we used.

We've been very happy with Saxon math the last 3 years

Is the textbook a hardcover edition?

My package came with a hardcover textbook. You may want to confirm with RR that a hard cover textbook is still what’s in the homeschool package.
