Optional Math-U-See Zeta DVD contains the same instructional lessons found in the Zeta Online Instruction with Videos
Not included in the Sets but may be purchased separately
Families choosing to purchase the DVD instead of the Online Instruction with Video will need the Integer Block Set, Algebra Decimal Insert Kit, Zeta Student Workbook and Tests, and Zeta Instruction Manual
The Math-U-See Zeta DVD is an optional purchase for families
who prefer to use DVD instruction rather than online instruction. It includes
an introduction to the Math-U-See methodology and clearly presented
instructional lessons. The teaching segment focuses on Mr. Demme, who explains
and demonstrates each concept on a large whiteboard. Lessons average 6-10
minutes in length. The instructional content of the DVD is the same instruction
that is included with the Math-U-See Zeta Online Instruction Videos.
Publisher's Description of Math-U-See Zeta DVD
The Zeta Instruction DVD features the videos instructors need to teach this level.
In this level, you and your student will confidently explore decimal math, percentages, and more to achieve a solid grasp of core operations, metric systems, and geometry basics.
The Math-U-See Zeta DVD is ideal for instructors who already own the Instruction Manual, Integer Block Kit, and the Algebra/Decimal Insert Kit, and whose students have all the necessary student materials including the Student Workbook and Tests booklet.
Mastery of decimals and percents and their relationship to fractions, applying core mathematical operations. Additional concepts include understanding and simplifying exponents, negative numbers, algebraic expressions, plane geometry and geometric symbols, and ratios.
Lessons follow a similar format – watch the DVD
lesson, work through lesson examples in the instruction manual together, and
complete worksheets. Lessons conclude with a test. Cumulative unit tests are
scheduled regularly to assure students retain previous teaching. A final test
over all concepts taught concludes the course.
