Why did you choose this?

This is my first time using so I think I will like to use the book for guidance with the workbooks

affordable and good reviews

Cathy Duffy's review prompted me to look into this. Since I was already using Noah Webster's Handbook for Reading, this seemed like a logical purchase.

Part of phonics program

Does this have an interesting/fun way of teaching all the ways letters interact with each other (i.e. h is a good influence on t and p, e is a bully, v stands up to him, r is bossy, etc...)? This looks more practical and easier and more wholesome than the much-disliked (by me) Distar method, but I'm still worried it will be stale. My son is very motivated to learn to read--I had completely planned on waiting until 1st grade to really dive into this, but he's already taught himself to read, will this be challenging enough or should I consider something else?

EnterI have used book B twice, and while it is effective, it teaches by looooots of practice and has been tedious seatwork for both of my students...I would not call it fun unless your child particularly enjoys filling out pages (some do!). And no, it does not teach fun rules. Bob Jones tends to have engaging workbooks in general, although pricey. also, Carson Dellosa has many small workbooks that are fun and inexpensive options. Hope this helps and happy teaching! an answer to this question.
