You might think of this as a “cheat sheet" booklet for parents/teachers. Right at your fingertips and organized according to the Jolly Phonics seven-group letter/sounds plus the alternative spellings of sounds, this little book gives you lots and lots of examples. There are four categories:
Words for blending, segmenting, and dictation
Words for blending only
Challenging words for blending
Phrases and sentences for reading
To make the resource complete, the six color groupings of Tricky Words are included in the back.
Practice is important at all stages of learning to read but never more so than at the beginning. This resource provides a large selection of words that use only the letter sounds that have been taught. Instructions for a few practice games and activities are also included.
