Phonetic concepts introduced and reviewed are soft c, soft g, gu, dge, ph, ie, oi, oy, ight, ow, and au, vowel digraphs and diphthongs, long i in igh, and long o in old. The illustrations are black and white with large, printed words. The inside cover of each reader displays a “focus concept” list of words that will be covered in that reader. This set includes the following titles – At the Fair with Cecil and Alice, Garbage Day with Paige, Hedgehog Lodge, Sollie, the Timid Puppy, A Class Trip with Miss Royal, The Mighty Mustangs, Phil and Stephanie, Paulette in Space, A Lucky Day for Andrew, and A Birthday Surprise for Goldie. The readers measure 8½ x 5½. Sc, 16 pages.
