Description
Introduce or inspire your children in the pursuit of learning based upon the gentle ways of Charlotte Mason. Children are first asked to identify 9 things that they want to learn, and tasked with finding 9 (or more) books to use as references. They are then set free to learn and create through the guided activity pages. Children will commonly complete 10-12 pages per day. Pages are similarly formatted and begin with copying a verse or quote. The next step directs students to identify their plans and create a short to do list. The next pages to be completed daily include doodling and simple drawing activities, a picture study (black and white image included), nature study drawing page (open-ended), reading time, spelling time (no word list included), film/movie study, a math practice sheet (no problems included), copywork from their reading book and a place to track current events. In sync with the self-directed learning model, students are given the opportunity to freely create a personalized journal based on their individual, delight directed interests. Concluding the book is the My Storyboard of World History, which features sixteen pages dedicated to creating a timeline from 1AD to 2020; followed by six “Future Pages".
