This is the tool you need to turn this text into a complete one year (36-week) paleontology curriculum. The 404-page Teacher Guide offers you a schedule for use with Volume 1 and Volume 2 texts. The schedule is printed in a chart format at the beginning and is divided by weekly, then daily lesson assignments. Lessons take approximately 30 to 45 minutes per day. Also in the chart is space to write due dates for assignments and the grade received. The book also offers alternate chapter worksheets, chapter exams and sectional exams (four for Volume 1 and two for Volume 2), and a final exam for each volume. Answer keys are found for all of them at the back of the book. Please note that no lab activities are included. ~ Donna
Life Science: Origins & Scientific Theory Teacher Guide
Description
Chapter Discussion Question: Teachers are encouraged to participate with the student as they complete the discussion questions. The purpose of the Chapter Purpose section is to introduce the chapter to the student. The Discussion Questions are meant to be thought-provoking. The student may not know the answers but should answer with their, thoughts, ideas, and knowledge of the subject using sound reasoning and logic. They should study the answers and compare them with their own thoughts. We recommend the teacher discuss the questions, the student's answers, and the correct answers with the student. This section should not be used for grading purposes.
DVD: Each DVD is watched in its entirety to familiarize the student with each book in the course. They will watch it again as a summary as they complete each book. Students may also use the DVD for review, as needed, as they complete each chapter of the course.
Chapter Worksheets: The worksheets are foundational to helping the student learn the material and come to a deeper understanding of the concepts presented. Often, the student will compare what we should find in the fossil record and in living creatures if evolution were true with what we actually find. This comparison clearly shows evolution is an empty theory simply based on the evidence. God's Word can be trusted and displayed both in the fossil record and in living creatures.
Tests and Exams: There is a test for each chapter, sectional exams, and a comprehensive final exam for each book.
This unique course helps to to defend their faith through science! In Life Science: Origins & Scientific Theory from Master Books high school students review the evidence, follow the science, examine both the creation and evolutionary arguments, as they come to understand for themselves the origin of life. Unlike many other evolution vs creation books out there, the books used as the core texts in this course were written by a gentleman who spent 30 years in a challenge to prove evolution. Yet the more he learned, the more the truth of God’s Word became apparent in the evidence he found ! Upon completion of this course, students will have a thorough understanding of the theory of evolution and its limits. They will also develop their critical thinking skills through careful analysis of evidence and comparing the merits of different theories. Along the way, they will learn more about paleontology, biology, and geology as they relate to the study of origins through an exploration of living fossils. Required for the one-year high school credit is the Teacher Guide, Evolution the Grand Experiment, and Living Fossils. The Teacher Guide includes the lesson schedule, worksheets and quizzes/tests, and answer keys. Lessons will take 30-45 minutes per day; 5 days per week. Student worksheets and quizzes/tests are reproducible for your family. No Labs are included.
