Straddling the darkest areas of both space and seas, the
great Cosmoctopus lives in limbo after losing its tentacles. This creature is a mystery to all, and we
hope that by obtaining all eight of its tentacles, we can help this creature
emerge whole from its current dark and inky realm. In this game, players take turns consisting
of moving the head of the Octopus between reward tiles within the inky realm to
gain resources and drafting cards to play and playing cards to their personal
area. The four card types used in this
game require the player to pay coin, ink, star, or whisper resources to play
them. Some cards give immediate rewards
such as resources or an additional Octopus move. Other cards give ongoing benefits such as
providing extra rewards each time a player obtains a specific resource. Some cards reward players with an Octopus
tentacle. Play continues until someone
gains his or her eighth tentacle to win the game! This is a unique game with a fun theme, solid
components and strategic card drafting/resource management strategies! Cosmoctopus plays in 90 minutes with 1-4
players. For solo play, there is a
Private Investigator mode with game pieces and instructions included.
