Description
This versatile set of 30 Tag
Bags in red, yellow, blue, orange, green, and purple is perfect for a
variety of hands-on activities that teach critical math skills. Made of thick,
durable canvas, each has a different fastener (zipper, buckle, snap, Velcro, or
large button) to develop fine motor skills. Number symbols on the right side of
the bag, and white dots on the left side (for numbers 1-10) make matching and
sorting fun. Each bag includes a pocket to fit one of the 30 laminated color
tags (included for more learning opportunities) inside--- or fill the pocket
with your own small objects for counting. Each suggested activity in the
16-page booklet is sung to a familiar tune such as “Jingle
Bells”, “On Top of Old Smokey”, or “Mary Had a Little Lamb” and is easy to do with
a class of children or a single student. Skills learned are detailed, for
example: As children sort and classify by attribute (colors or fasteners) they
are building problem solving strategies that are basic to patterns/algebra.
Even social-emotional skills are practiced as children learn to wait for a turn
or work together for a goal. You can also get creative with your own student-led
activities during discovery learning, circle time, and centers. The possibilities seem endless, as children learn
so much when they open, close, count, sort, measure and build with the bags!
